The solution and the raccoon

17 Feb. Friday. And I woke up at 6.45…

Ed went out early again so Cheryl brought me to college instead. That morning was foggy too, but it was kind of warm outdoor. What’s wrong? ==”

Got to Pioneer and did my assignment. When Prof Linder walked through I asked if she will be free today, unfortunately, she was busy all day. Every Friday she will be…. And then the psychology class was fine. I am kind of quiet, but tried to give ideas from time to time. I am a good boy. xD

Went to the library and did my assignment. That was a very hard one, because I have got to respond to all kind of funny questions base on the movie I have watched. Oh and that day I realized that more and more people are coming to the library and they too, like to use individual study room. Well, but sometimes it is uncomfy inside, and I will sit on the sofa outside when there is no one around.

Practiced the pronunciation of consonants and got really tired. ==” Posted something on my blog and went to the entrance and waited for Ed. He was late for half an hour and all I did was reading the article I need to read for my another psychology assignment… The one Dr. K actually asked me to read but I didn’t: “Why Chinese mothers are superior?”

I read it on my smartphone. ;) I transferred the .pdf to my phone so that I can read it while waiting. Hehe.

On our way home, Ed stopped for 3 times: the 1st time he checked mail, the 2nd time he reversed and showed me a deer, and the 3rd time we saw 2 deer… it is not easy to see animals around because there are lots of trees blocking the way…

Read again when waiting for dinner. And had games after dinner. We played Chinese checkers, which Dennis taught them how to. Hexagon game, kind of funny, but not really interesting. And that game took some time because we have got to think…

And then we played Blokus again. I think that was the night we saw a raccoon. Reggie barked hard and we saw a raccoon outside, on the deck, just right outside of the glass sliding door. Ed turned of the lights indoor and I actually saw it. Ed put some cat food outside but the raccoon, probably because Ed accidentally turned on the lights outside, was scared and ran away. =3

Blokus was fast, because I have learned how to play. I won since I started the game. Have got all my pieces used. ;)

And so I bathed and wrote diary. And while showering, I recalled of the movie “The Love of Siam” and almost cried. Such a wonderful movie… I will make my students watch it if I become a lecturer. =P

Listened to music, and realized that I won’t feel sad if I have enough socialization. I think that is the solution. Isn’t it? As I said,

“Socializing, studying, and sleeping, the challenge for a college student (a defined stage of life) is to find a balance between these three, which is, as many suspected, sort of impossible. But we really need all the three of them in order to have a meaningful life. D=”

Listened to my own recordings until I fall asleep… I was supposed to wake up later and write my assignment but… I was too lazy. ><

p/s: 發覺不僅是我不喜歡、習慣美國的食物;連我的腸胃也不喜歡、習慣他們,所以米田共是淺黃色而潮濕的…… 昨晚吃了中餐,所以今晚的米田共比較正常。=3

Lunar New Year Dinner

16 Feb Thursday. Yeah I know Lunar New Year has past long ago but well, we had a dinner which was named that way on that night.

Woke up at 6.30, which proves nothing but I have gotten lazier and lazier. Got to college with Ed who offered to help me look for a volunteer opportunity in an international high school. Sounds cool, and now that no one has replied me I guess I will need his help.

Went to Melrose and asked Marie where and when shall we wait for our transport to the restaurant tonight. Met Dr. Ismail who told me that we should be back at around 9, so I texted Ed.

And then I walked to Riley under the boring rain. Stopped there and texted Panda, and then got to Withnell and stayed for awhile again. And finally went to the library where I stayed in an individual study room (more like a couple study room – with two chairs) and used my computer. And what? Hours of studying psychology, and did my APA.

Went to Riley and met Bouquet, my conversation partner for the pronunciation class, who is a Thai American. Her father is an American and her mother is a Thai, how interesting. We are both Sociology major so we chatted a bit about it until 3. And so I got back to the library and went into the same room.

Blogged! Went to Melrose at 5.30 and many were already waiting there. Mr. Floyd waived at me and told me that we can get onto the van if we want to, so I told everyone about that. We got an old driver, who I later figured out that he probably is Prof Sandra Lee’s husband. And so we were transported to Yan’s Chinese Restaurant.

Why have they chosen a Chinese restaurant so far away, and not the one just right beside our college? I guess that one must be terrible. lol.

Dr. Ismail was at conference so Sandy did the “opening ceremony” instead. Foods were served at about 6.45… Starved…

This one is called dumplings, or 餃子 in Chinese. Tasted pretty good, but very different from the kind of dumplings in Malaysia and those in China. D= Joshua said they are of Hong Kong style. Really?

This probably was the second one. Prawns. Not too Chinese style but tasted good, and I love rice, in case you wonder. =D But I took no pictures for the rest of them, because I was too busy eating? Not really… The rest of them don’t taste as good, oh but the fish was okay, but was not at all Chinese, because the sliced it and used some western fish. ==”

And at about 8, the presentation started with Maylnn and Joshua presenting how Malaysian celebrate Chinese New Year, with me standing beside, kept quiet for most of the time. xD I can do it if I want to, but why do it when I have two professional presenters at my sides? xD

And then the Mongolian quite special… and Hong Kong with Gong-Hei-Fat-Choi and nothing else. I helped them to make some good noise though. And then the China girl was doing her third presentation on this, 3 years straight, so she did a video instead. She must have spent quite some effort…

Had some chocolates. =D And Connie asked her daughter to show us the baby. The baby was born on the day we visited Connie’s yard. The girls were so excited but I felt nothing. Why? I am so cold-blooded. ><

Got back onto the same van. Well, we reached Melrose at 9, which means that we weren’t late. lol. Everyone is standing under the rain chatting, while I hid in Melrose… I don’t wanna get sick. ==”

Ed came and we got home. Foggy situation. But at least, we can still see the trees around us, lol.

Printed my ALA as soon as I reached home. Bathed. Wrote diary. Slept with the lights on. Why? Because I intended to do my assignment but have fallen asleep instead. =3

A photo with my phone?

15 Feb Wednesday. When I wake up at 6.20, Ed has already left for work. And like I said, there was no snow. So I took breakfast and left with Cheryl, and witnessed the foggy town from the mountain. It was very cold outdoor, especially in the town due to the high humidity from the fog.

Nothing to say about the psychology class (can’t recall what we did), and also the sociology class, because it was canceled. The only thing that I would like to emphasize here is that, it was a very very cold day, especially when I have to walk from Pioneer to the library. You know how far away they are? Not too far, but far enough to get you wet in a fog. ==”

Spent an hour working on the volunteer opportunities stuffs again, and sent out several emails hoping that they will reply soon, but until today only 2 out of 4 have replied and only one of them has what I want.

And so I studied psychology real hard, because I have got to study before I can answer the question is our first ALA (kind of like an in class activity but requires a hard copy of your responses). And then ate my lunch. Just some bread I brought from home. And finally the pronunciation class.

This is not a bad class, nut the idea that we will be graded makes me feel bad. Why grade us when it is a practical class? D= And also, vowels are much tougher than consonants. We had a mock test on that day, and Ting and Young seems to have put in real lot of afford into this subjects. Oh God, ain’t they taking any heavy subjects? Oh and Young told me that she isn’t.

Because the previous recording I did was too soft, I have got to redo it. And I did it. But still, I can’t do it real loud, because I have to do it in the library, the quiet most place I can find on college.

Next, borrowed the reserved copy of Babies the movie, and sort of recorded it with VLC player so that I can watch it later. I filled out the volunteer application form while waiting. Well, hopefully I will get it, but until today I’ve heard nothing. =3

Kind of hope that I can chat with Panda everyday because that definitely makes me feel better, but that day I only got to say good night to her in the morning. You know what? Communicating which someone you trust back in your hometown is just kind of warm. Really warm.

And I am really far behind for psychology. I have got so much reading to catch up with, even by that day, and worse today.==” Whatever. I texted Ed and told him I will be waiting in the library. I went out at 5 and saw a squirrel, again! But unfortunately, as soon as it got onto the tree, I can’t find it. The picture I got is really blur, so no point showing you, instead I have got a scenery picture to share.

Took it with my Samsung Exhibit II

p/s: I am using it as my Whatsapp background. It fits in just perfectly. ;)

That was a bright sunset. The sunsets here are usually cloudy and have nothing to appreciate, but that evening was different, so I took this picture.

Went back into the library and waited. Well, Ed came 20 minutes late because he had to buy something for Cheryl to cook. And so we were finally home, and had Italian Spaghetti for dinner. And then, Cheryl said she saw my bed on the ground. Meow?

They went out after dinner for a class on economic or something similar. I used the time to wash the container they use to keep forks, spoons, etc. Why? Because I think it needed a wash. lol.

And so I bathed and wrote diary and listened to music, and oh man, you know what? I actually cried listening 《直來直往》, a song which I never thought would make me cry. Crazy things must have happened on me. lol. And 《雨天》made me cry even harder. Well, I reckon whoever loved before will feel what I felt, when they are lonely and are listening to love songs. No?

Watched Babies the crazy movie. And while I was doing so, Cheryl brought me a blanket to put beneath my bed so that it will be softer. Good idea. But the movie is really crazy, when you have to watch it and try figuring out which scenes are those you need to use in your assignment. ==”

I wrote down some points and went to sleep when it was around 11pm. Sleeping was the most joyous thing to do at that time and I am glad that I did it. =3
