16 Feb Thursday. Yeah I know Lunar New Year has past long ago but well, we had a dinner which was named that way on that night.
Woke up at 6.30, which proves nothing but I have gotten lazier and lazier. Got to college with Ed who offered to help me look for a volunteer opportunity in an international high school. Sounds cool, and now that no one has replied me I guess I will need his help.
Went to Melrose and asked Marie where and when shall we wait for our transport to the restaurant tonight. Met Dr. Ismail who told me that we should be back at around 9, so I texted Ed.
And then I walked to Riley under the boring rain. Stopped there and texted Panda, and then got to Withnell and stayed for awhile again. And finally went to the library where I stayed in an individual study room (more like a couple study room – with two chairs) and used my computer. And what? Hours of studying psychology, and did my APA.
Went to Riley and met Bouquet, my conversation partner for the pronunciation class, who is a Thai American. Her father is an American and her mother is a Thai, how interesting. We are both Sociology major so we chatted a bit about it until 3. And so I got back to the library and went into the same room.
Blogged! Went to Melrose at 5.30 and many were already waiting there. Mr. Floyd waived at me and told me that we can get onto the van if we want to, so I told everyone about that. We got an old driver, who I later figured out that he probably is Prof Sandra Lee’s husband. And so we were transported to Yan’s Chinese Restaurant.
Why have they chosen a Chinese restaurant so far away, and not the one just right beside our college? I guess that one must be terrible. lol.
Dr. Ismail was at conference so Sandy did the “opening ceremony” instead. Foods were served at about 6.45… Starved…
This one is called dumplings, or 餃子 in Chinese. Tasted pretty good, but very different from the kind of dumplings in Malaysia and those in China. D= Joshua said they are of Hong Kong style. Really?
This probably was the second one. Prawns. Not too Chinese style but tasted good, and I love rice, in case you wonder. =D But I took no pictures for the rest of them, because I was too busy eating? Not really… The rest of them don’t taste as good, oh but the fish was okay, but was not at all Chinese, because the sliced it and used some western fish. ==”
And at about 8, the presentation started with Maylnn and Joshua presenting how Malaysian celebrate Chinese New Year, with me standing beside, kept quiet for most of the time. xD I can do it if I want to, but why do it when I have two professional presenters at my sides? xD
And then the Mongolian quite special… and Hong Kong with Gong-Hei-Fat-Choi and nothing else. I helped them to make some good noise though. And then the China girl was doing her third presentation on this, 3 years straight, so she did a video instead. She must have spent quite some effort…
Had some chocolates. =D And Connie asked her daughter to show us the baby. The baby was born on the day we visited Connie’s yard. The girls were so excited but I felt nothing. Why? I am so cold-blooded. ><
Got back onto the same van. Well, we reached Melrose at 9, which means that we weren’t late. lol. Everyone is standing under the rain chatting, while I hid in Melrose… I don’t wanna get sick. ==”
Ed came and we got home. Foggy situation. But at least, we can still see the trees around us, lol.
Printed my ALA as soon as I reached home. Bathed. Wrote diary. Slept with the lights on. Why? Because I intended to do my assignment but have fallen asleep instead. =3
